City Centre Conservation Area Appraisal - Consultation

October 25th – December 20th 2023

Following funding from Historic England and Gloucester’s Cathedral Quarter High Street Heritage Action Zone an appraisal of Gloucester’s City Centre Conservation Area has been undertaken, and management proposals, which aim to ensure that what makes this area special is preserved and enhanced, have been put forward.

A draft copy of this appraisal document and the management proposals are now available for public consultation. They can be found here (PDF, 17.5 MB)

A hard copy of this document can also be viewed by appointment at the council officers. To make an appointment please contact heritage@gloucester.gov.uk.

Additional hard copies can be found at Gloucester Library on Brunswick Road. View opening times here.

The public consultation will last from October 25th 2023 until December 20th 2023, and during that time we are inviting people to review the document and proposals and let us know what they think. This is your opportunity to contribute to how the City Council manages this very important part of Gloucester, and we hope that you that you will take it.

You can submit your comments using this online form.

Alternatively, comments can be submitted to the following address: Gloucester City Council, PO Box 2017, Pershore, WR10 9BJ

A public meeting outlining the appraisal and the management proposals will take place at 6pm on Tuesday November 14th in the Fisher Room of Gloucester’s Guildhall. Click here for directions.
