Register for a Blue Badge Car Park Permit
Use this service to register your Blue Badge for 3 hours free parking with automatic entry to Eastgate Shopping Centre and Kings Walk car park.
Your permit will let you enter and exit the car park without the need to take a ticket or go to a pay station.
There's a different way to apply for or renew a Blue Badge
Who can register
You must be a Blue Badge holder.
You can register for yourself, for your child or as an organisation.
Types of parking permits
You can register either:
- just your Blue Badge
- your vehicle and Blue Badge
If you don't have your own vehicle
If you only want to register your Blue Badge, you will receive a parking permit through the post in the form of a chip to stick to your Blue Badge.
You can use your permit to:
- enter or exit a car park in any vehicle, by holding the Blue Badge permit chip against the 'Subscriber' icon on the entrance or exit terminal to raise the barrier for the car park
- park for up to 3 hours for free by displaying your Blue Badge (normal parking charges apply after the free period has ended)
If you have your own vehicle
If you register your Blue Badge and vehicle you will receive a parking permit through the post in the form of a chip to stick to your Blue Badge.
Your vehicle will be registered with our Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system.
You can use your permit to:
- enter or exit the car park in your registered vehicle and our ANPR system will recognise your vehicle and raise the barrier automatically
- enter or exit the car park in any vehicle, by holding your Blue Badge permit chip against the 'Subscriber' icon on the entrance or exit terminal to raise the barrier for the car park
- park for up to 3 hours for free by displaying your Blue Badge (normal parking charges apply after the free period has ended)
How to display your badge
To use your permit for 3 hours free parking at Eastgate Shopping Centre and Kings Walk car parks, you'll need to display your Blue Badge.
You must:
- display your Blue Badge on the dashboard, where it can be clearly read through the front windscreen
- set the parking time clock on your Blue Badge to show the 15-minute period that you arrived
If you are staying longer than 3 hours, you will need to buy a ticket and display it with your badge and clock. Officers checking parking tickets will know to add three hours to the time you have paid for.
How to register online
Use this service to register or re-register for a Blue Badge parking permit. You can also use this service to tell us you've changed your vehicle.
You will need to sign in or sign up for a My Gloucester account to apply online.
You'll need to provide:
- the details of your current Blue Badge including a photo or scan showing the front of your Blue Badge
- vehicle registration number (if you are the registered keeper of the vehicle)
- your contact information
What you need to know
Your Blue Badge and parking permit is for your use only, it is your responsibility to make sure you are aware of the rights and responsibilities of Blue Badge holders and our terms and conditions.
You can apply for one permit per person.
You must re-apply for a permit each time your Blue Badge expires.
