Longsmith Street Car Park Reopens

Published
Longsmith Street Car Park will reopen this weekend following extensive work to resurface and repair the city centre car park.

The first five floors will reopen making around 135 spaces available to visitors.

Gloucester City Council will continue to monitor car parking capacity across the city and assess whether further work will take place.

The site has been earmarked for future development and could form part of the proposals to turn the former Fleece Hotel on Westgate Street into an enterprise hub for young people.

Longsmith Street Car Park is one of 15 council car parks offering a total of around 2,000 parking spaces for visitors.

Later this year the new multi-storey car park at The Forum will open providing a further 400 spaces.

A spokesperson for Gloucester City Council said: “Currently a number of car parks across the city regularly have spaces but we will continue to monitor the demand for car parking.”
