Support for Ukraine
We stand with the people of Ukraine, supporting those who had to leave their homes. Many Ukrainians live and work in Gloucester, and we proudly welcome and support those coming to the city through the Families for Ukraine and Homes for Ukraine schemes.
Councillor Richard Cook, leader of Gloucester City Council, said: “The city council wishes to express how saddened we are by the ongoing situation in the Ukraine and that our thoughts are with those people those affected by these tragic events. We know that our residents will be deeply worried for the safety of their friends, family, loved ones and people of the Ukraine and we truly hope that peace returns to the region as soon as possible and we can bring an end to the senseless loss of life from this unjust military action.”
