Apply for free school meals 

If you or your child receive certain benefits, you can apply for free school meals from Year 3 and above by visiting

NHS Healthy Start Scheme

If you are more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under four and are on a low income, you may be entitled to help to buy healthy food and milk from NHS Healthy Start.

Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) 

A great way to connect to your community with activities and food, for school aged children and parents. It’s free and runs over school holidays. Activities include sport clubs, arts, music and family days. or visit

Gloucester Food Bank

Once you have been issued with a voucher, you can exchange this for a minimum of three days of emergency food at your nearest foodbank centre.

Feeding Gloucestershire

Feeding Gloucestershire is a multi-agency partnership, which was convened in July 2021. The aim of Feeding Gloucestershire is to work with organisations across the county to drive systemic change and build food security across all communities in Gloucestershire.
